About Carli K. Baylor

Biography

​

I'm an artsy, chic writer and PR professional. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in News Editorial as well as a Master of Journalism from the Frank W. and Sue Mayborn School of Journalism at the University of North Texas.  (Just call me CKB.)

​

My past writing experiences have included the North Texas Daily, Discovering Denton magazine, Theater Jones, Dallas Observer and Eater Dallas. I have also done social media and public relations for Scandle, LLC, Tyler and the Tribe, Holiday Inn Express & Suites and Karyna Micaela. I worked with Design Sponge on a City Guide for Denton, Texas, and my photography has appeared in both Reunion: The Dallas Review​

and American Literary Review.

I was an account executive at Cooksey Communications, Inc., where I was responsible for public relations and communications for corporate clients, including Devon Energy, Holland Services, NTE Mobility Partners, United Way and Sheraton Dallas. My eclectic background also includes a career in higher education at the University of North Texas, where I was a program planner, communicator and supervisor for six years.

 

I currently work in the public sector and manage public involvement and community outreach efforts

for the NCTCOG Transportation Department.
